LSO Play website by Sennep

This project was selected in the Digital – Websites category in The Annual 2018, CR’s award scheme celebrating the best in commercial creativity

Using high-definition concert footage, the London Symphony Orchestra’s LSO Play site allows users to interact with performances from within the different sections of the orchestra. Users can look at up to four views of the orchestra at a time, including different instrumental sections, and a close-up of the conductor from the player’s point of view.

An update of the original LSO Play site which Sennep helped create in 2013, the new website also includes masterclasses with LSO players as well as downloadable resources for teachers.

According to Gareth Davies, Principal Flute and Chairman at LSO, “LSO Play is a great resource which gives users a chance to get right to the heart of the action. We’ve all seen the orchestra from the audience, but being able to sit inside and choose your camera angles give a completely different perspective to the music and what it’s like to perform these great works.”
