Paper Brains exhibition by d-file studio

This project was selected in the Design – Installations & Exhibitions category of The Annual 2018, CR’s award scheme that celebrates the best in commercial creativity

Based on the archive of the Special Collections Library of the University of Amsterdam, Paper Brains was an exhibition showcasing the ways in which the human brain has been visually depicted through the centuries, from the earliest printed books all the way through to MRI scans.

The show was housed at the University of Amsterdam’s Book & Manuscript Studies department where specimens and supporting text were displayed on the floor of the gallery. Thus, the floors of the gallery itself became enlarged book pages.
