Jude Law is tired of being a romantic in new Uber Eats spot
Directed by David Shane, the campaign film builds on the theme of Uber Eats’ latest brand platform, created by Mother
Continuing its ‘When You’ve Done Enough’ UK brand platform, which launched earlier this year, Uber Eats has worked with agency Mother to release a new instalment starring renowned British actor Jude Law.
Titled Romance’d Enough, the TV spot follows Law as he tries desperately to avoid romantic moments that threaten to unfold as he navigates the streets, parks and shops of London. From reaching for the same book as a fellow shopper, to a chance encounter with an adoring dog walker, he repeatedly dodges potential ‘meet-cutes’, saying “I can’t do this. No more romances, no more happily-ever-afters.”
While the first instalment of the platform featured an evil Javier Bardem that was exhausted by always being the bad guy, this release plays on Law’s reputation as the rom-com heartthrob. But, as attested to in the film, even romantics can grow tired of the romance eventually; instead, they’d rather sit alone, order Uber Eats, and messily tuck into a box of sticky chicken wings.
Directed by David Shane, the spot forms part of an integrated campaign that goes out this week across TV, OOH, digital and social media.
